Microneedling

Also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, Microneedling involves the use of tiny needles to cause a controlled trauma to the skin. This kick-starts the immune system to begin the wound healing process, leading to production of structural cells like collagen.

This helps with plumping, firming and smoothing of the skin, and works well for scars, texture & ageing. It also helps to break down & remove areas with pigmentation.

At SM Skin & Laser Clinic, Penarth, we are also able to use Microneedling to help break down stubborn tattoo ink and reduce scar tissues which hold onto ink particles. This is only recommended if a tattoo is raised, or in the latter stages of the laser removal process, when ink has mostly faded.
