Skincare Pre & Post Treatment Care

Following the relevant pre and post treatment advice is of the utmost importance to prevent:

- Chemical burns or injuries

- Scarring or pigmentation

- Refusal of service

- Poor results from treatment

It is also important to remember that your skin concerns may worsen before they improve. This is usually completely normal, but if you do have concerns, please don't hesitate to contact the clinic. 

Pre-Treatment

4 Weeks+ Before

1-2 Weeks Before

  • Complete courses of acne medications such as roaccutane, accutane and other isotretinoins 6-12 months prior to treatment (with advice of GP or dermatologist)

  • No fillers in the area for 4 weeks prior to treatment

  • Limit sun exposure

  • No botox or other aesthetic skincare for 2 weeks before or after treatment

  • No hair removal 1 week prior to treatment

  • Cease use of skincare actives (retinol, AHAs, BHAs) on the treatment area

  • Cease or limit use of photosensitising medications, or those which impact the blood (blood thinners etc) with advice from GP

Day Before & Day Of

  • Arrive with clean skin, free of makeup and products

  • Take your usual anti-viral medication 24 hours before (as advised  by GP/pharmacist) if you normally suffer with coldsores. Active coldsores cannot be treated

Post-Treatment

Day Of & Day After

1-2 Weeks After

  • Only apply the suggested post-treatment products such as SPF

  • No excessive heat including steam, saunas, hot showers or exercise

  • Absolutely NO sun exposure (protected or unprotected)

  • Do not apply makeup for 24 hours or until any irritation subsides

  • Careful sun exposure may resume after 2 weeks, with SPF 30+

  • Gentle exfoliation may resume

  • Beauty and aesthetic procedures may resume after 2 weeks
